What to Expect

First and Second Visits

The purpose of the first visit is to gather information about your case. Naturopaths take the time to listen to your current and relevant past health concerns, including a review of health and family history, digestion, mental health and stressors, and supplement/medication history. Usually the first visit involves some treatments recommendations, but a comprehensive treatment plan usually occurs after a complaint-focused physical exam in the second visit. Subsequent visits are commonly recommended to follow progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed, typically on a monthly or bimonthy basis.

Currently offering virtual and in-person visits.

Comprehensive Testing

After reviewing the information from your health history, physical exam, and past lab results, further conventional and naturopathic tests may be recommended to help understand the underlying causes and guide treatment. Click here for a list of the tests most commonly ordered.

Treatment Recommendations

A comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your concerns, needs, and lifestyle is usually put into action in the second appointment. Common recommendations include: herbs, supplements, lifestyle, dietary modifications, movement, mindfulness, hydrotherapy, acupuncture and more.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture, the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body, may be recommended depending on your case. The sensation experienced is very individual, going unnoticed by some and felt as tingling, numbness, ache, warmth, cold, or heaviness by others. It can be very effective for an overactive nervous system, for pain, for addictions, and for insomnia, and I often say the most common side effect are a state of relaxation and a good nights sleep.
